Just a quick question. I shall be upgrading soon. Are all 4G contracts on 24 months or are there 18 month ones available? And are 18 month contracts still available on 3G or is 24 months now the new minimum contract one can sign up for? Don't know

Hi.

Yes 24 months and again yes if on Refresh and you pay up the phone plan part of the agreement.

Are you in a 4g area ? Ensure the phone you choose is 4G compliant too.

Although any data allowance works on 3G and 4g alike.

Hi and welcome.

24 months is the norm now from O2 direct on Refresh Tariffs.

12 month simplicity tariffs or 30 day ones. No handset.

Look at the independants such as Cpw too.

Thank you, so basically when i upgrade to 4G it will have to be a 24 month contract? Hmmm. But i guess the upside is that i can get a new mobile during the 24 months. Cat

Yes i am in a 4G area. The masts where i live has recently had work done on it. So it is all good. My only other dilema is deciding between the S5 and the Nokia Lumina 1520. Decisions decisions! Thoughful

Hi

It would be prudent to check in real life the 4G connection.

By asking someone on O2 4g account to visit and run a speed test. (Uses around 40-50mb of data)

Or

Get an O2~ 4g sim Payg card and try it in a 4g phone.

My preference would be the Samsung Galaxy s5 but that's me. wink

Personally I would also go S5 over any Nokia.

Android more popular with more apps to choose from.
