I had a call from somebody claiming to be from O2 saying I was getting a 30% tariff reduction. They knew most of my details so thought it was legit. Anyway they sent me a link and an OTP which I stupidly opened and told them. Now it appears I have a new tariff and phone. I called 202 and reported it as scam. He said it had been cancelled but is still showing in My O2 account and my old tariff has disappeared. The guy did say if anything does arrive not to accept it...obviously! Doubt it will!

If you’ve been the victim of fraud – whether it’s because you’ve given details to someone over the phone, or clicked on a link in a suspicious text or email there are things you can do:
Contact your bank if you think you may have given out financial information. They can help protect your account and stop transactions.
Change your account and online account passwords. Not just your O2 account. All of them.
Forward fraudulent texts to O2 for free on 7726.
Contact Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040.
Call your Virgin Media or O2 customer services number if you think somebody’s taken out a contract using your details.
Virgin Media customers can phone 150 from their landline or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone.
O2 customers can call 202 from their O2 phone or 0344 809 0202 from any other phone.
You can block the number that called you, or any number you think may be suspicious.

Thanks for your help. Do you know how I get my old £7.96 a month plan back rather than this new £45 a month plan which, apparently I've been scammed into. Somebody has obviously duplicated my account! I called 202 and he said he'd cancelled the new order but, it's all I see on My o2 now?

@StallionicChamp We are all customers and can't help with account issues. You'll have to persevere with customer service. If this has been passed on to the fraud department, which should have happened, there isn't much you can do until you hear from them.

I have had a number of calls from the same company, all offering me a special discount on my Virgin Media phone tariff, but they will not confirm my account details, keep asking me to give them my details instead.
Calls have come from 0208 124 9212, but suspect it is spoofed. The strange thing is they call me on a different mobile number I have not connected to VM/O2.

The numbers are just spoofed. You can report but they move on. They probably have hundreds of them.
Provided you don't give any details or give them an OTP code you are OK.
Sadly some have ignored the warning that comes before the code
