If you get the o2 open discount but at some stage change to a job in which you cant get the discount, does the discount stop immediately , or only at the end of your contract. Below is a quote from the o2 open web page. At first glance it may seem you get it till the end of the contract by looking at the first sentence, but the second sentence seems to contradict this. Any help? Here is the quote: "What happens if I leave the company or the membership scheme? You'll continue with your O2 Open mobile deal until the end of your contract. Once you've left the company or membership scheme, you'll no longer be eligible to receive O2 promotional deals as part of the O2 Open scheme."

It continues until you change your contract or any terms of your contract.

As mentioned above, it carries on until the end if your contact.  Then you renew.

Yes the first part of the sentence indicates that it will continue to the end of the contract. ie "You'll continue with your O2 Open mobile deal until the end of your contract." But the second part (below) indicates that ONCE you leave the company through which you receive the discount that you are no longer eligible. It looks as if that means once your contract has ended you will be no longer eligible but o2 could justifiably say (from the way this is worded) that in the middle of the contract, if you have left that company, "ONCE" you have left it, this no longer applies? Or am I reading too much into this? "Once you've left the company or membership scheme, you'll no longer be eligible to receive O2 promotional deals as part of the O2 Open scheme."

O2 promo deals may be something in addition that is offered to employees of certain company's.
The tariff discount will not change unless you change your tariff yourself.

You are reading too much into this. You will continue with the discount as long as your contract runs. This includes you letting the contract roll on after the minimum period has ended. If you are happy with the tariff and you buy your own handset for example, the discount will remain in place.

Of course if you write to O2 and say you have left that company and no longer qualify for the discount I'm sure they would remove it. In all honesty, that is the only way they would know.

Trust me I am the king or aguing discounts with phone networks. I managed to get a £10 reduction on my last bill but after many days of arguing, raising technicalities and other rubbish i was clearly told.

NO DISCOUNT ON YOUR NEW TARRIF! However the way I see it is i'm paying for 20GB data each month, and I WILL USE IT!

Thats what I want to know. If for any reason a person leaves their employment through which they get discount etc can they still legally get the discount for the rest of the contract. Im not talking about not telling them or anything like that. Can a person with a clear conscience still continue with the discount and it be ok with o2 Is that what you read from their statement
