If you have a 30-day SIMO with high or unlimited data, O2 are doing it to these customers only. Common with those that came to O2 via one of Virgin Media's older mobile tariffs, @Donald6 - a search here will find the post from the Forum Manager about it:

You would have been given notice by e-mail or SMS a month prior to it having been applied.

Yes, certain ex Virgin 30 day sim only tariffs have been increased.
It can be avoided by changing your tariff.
