I have a 24 month contract that ends sept 2012, I have been paying for a 1gb bolt on for 4 months that is slowed down to snails pace for 4 months, no end of calls to customer service who admit it being their fault, 29/11/11 still not been sorted, can I cancel my contract early with no cost to myself? (BREACH OF CONTRACT ON O2's PART)???????????

I would make a formal complaint as here:

I wouldn't cancel as you will impact your credit record, and they won't respond to threats of any kind.
If you follow the advice there it should get sorted out.

Why is the data slowed down - is it the network in your area, or are you exceeding the 1GB data allowance?

Why would it effect your credit rating, if o2 allow you to cancel the contract due to breach of contract?
I done this in the past when they started charging for 0845/0870 numbers and I cancelled and was allowed as I did a lot of 0845/0870 calls when it was included in the minutes.
Would this effect my credit rating and why?

Not at all, it appeared the OP might be thinking of a unilateral cancellation which definitely would.

well another waste of time {24hrs no reply) lets hope the ombudsman can get my contract terminated with no cost to myself, because online promises obviously mean nothing to a large network like o2, I'm just one of many small fish.

If you sent a pm to Zoe@O2 as she asked you'll need to allow more than 24 hours for a reply.
