Hi, Does anyone know if O2 will take a Revolute Mastercard for payment of a pay monthly account? I've just tried to do this twice without any luck. I use this card all the time for small payments and never had a problem so it would be strange but not impossible I guess.

Thanks.

To be fair Revolut is not a UK Bank, its a Lithuanian Bank, and uses a third party to provide UK Sort Codes and Account Numbers this is Barclays.

How many times have you tried?

While I was out I popped into a store & asked about this, they confirmed that the issue is with Revolut, apparently not trusted, so that's why it was refused. Also not trusted is Starling (UK based) however they told me that Monzo is on their "good bank" list. All this seems far too much trouble to go through to let them accept £8/month off me so I'll be looking elsewhere. Oh and in the process they've screwed up my credit rating for 30 days! Maybe PAYG has a future after all 🙂

Interesting to hear Starling is on their as used Starling with o2 previously, but now use Monzo and not come across this with people I know who are with Starling either.

It's down to the amount of fraud registered by users of these banks

I know Vodafone have issues with Monzo and Revolut.

Revolut the problem will be its not a UK Bank
Three and EE just have problems lol

Possibly, I use Monzo for all my o2 bills, upgrades and the like and never had a problem.

However, I would wait a while before reapplying with o2, as more attempts will mean more credit checks.

We don't know o2's business policies, but if o2 have done hard searches they will be on your credit report for up to a year.

As I mentioned before, the refusal is due to 2 credit checks in quick succession.

From experience, you need to wait 30 days before trying again with a trusted bank account.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
