Just a quick question please, I have a 12 month sim only plan and I am about 5 months in. It seems I can change my tariff online to a 30 days one. Does this mean I can change and then cancel with O2 after the 30 days?

Hi @JAY81UK

Yes you can, it's a loophole that works currently.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Ah, my wife is the 'lead number' so doesn't have this option on her account.
I get 20% airtime discount as she has her account with O2 and it's letting me change to a 30 day contract.

As it doesn't mention a 12 month contract anywhere then, can I just cancel without changing tariff? How could my wife also get out?

Thanks

If you just cancel a 12 month simo, you will be billed up to the end of the 12 months, equally, if your wife wants to leave, she'll need to pay up to the end or just pay off her device plan if on refresh.

Ok so I do need to change to a 30 days plan and then cancel?

Guessing I can give 30 days notice today when I change plans to a 30 day one?
