11.7% contract price increase - above RPI so am I free to cancel?

I have an O2 pay monthly sim provided as part of a Virgin Media package.

I have just noticed the price increased from £25/mth to £27.92/mth in April.

This equates to an 11.7% increase.

My understanding is that any increase beyond RPI allows me to exit a contract free of charge.

I believe RPI was 9-9.1%, so this seems to apply.

Can you please confirm if this is the case or not.

Thanks in advance.

Yearly rises are inflation plus 3.9% Similar on all major networks.

So you can't cancel.

If you think you were mis sold you need to take it up with Virgin. Their CS will say anything to get a sale

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
