we cancelled this tel in jan and moved over to vodaphone on a new iphone 6  once out 1 yr contracy expired-the new supplier told us that they would transfer the old number across and that there was nothing for us to do accordingly as we have ceased to use the old phone there is no bill owing to yourselves as we are now payinf since jan the new contract

Did you ask o2 for, and use, a PAC (port authorisation code) to move your number to Vodafone? You would have needed to request this, Vodafone would not have been able to do this for you.

Are you using your old number now with Vodafone? @Anonymous

I'm presuming you have received a bill from O2 so it sounds as though notice wasn't given. You really need to call and speak to customer service. Don't use live chat for this.
