Middle of Durham City.

Full strength signal with H.

Speed Test reports average of 1.1meg.

Colleague next to me on Virgin gets close to 8meg.

Is that to be expected?

Speed on mobile Internet is down to many things but on a non congested mast things can be quick

unlike adsl fixed broadband the mobile network has many variables.

Full signal is only what the phone can report the tolerances tend to be set quite low.

Do you both have the same phone?
Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you’re wrong. So Ive been told wink

It will depend also on how many phones are connected to the mast. I imagine Virgin will have much fewer customers on their network....
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Yup! Did tests last month - both have Galaxy S2's.

We've tried tests during day and middle of the night (I work a night shift) and it's the same - his speeds are significantly better than mine.

I have an Nexus 4 now and that's not changed a thing (and a new SIM in case that matters).
