Has anyone used o2 switch up online and could explain to me a little how it works? Like do I have to send my phone back before getting my new phone?

Advice is don't.
Do it in store every time.
Too many issues with phone returns and condition assessments.

I have done 3 online... 2 the phones still ARENT marked as returned after 3 months and still paying for them, and 1 went without a hitch... so a 1 in 3 chance all will be good... as advised by the two with the knowledge above, do it in store to save yourself a world of agro.

02 switch up seems like a scam - sent my phone back in pristine condition wrapped it in bubble wrap to protect it. They have said there is a cracked screen which there isn't at all - absolutely disgusting. can't wait to change providers

Its not a scam, I have done lots of switchups but all in store..
And the advice still stands DO IT in store, and if you do it online take plenty of photos and videos as evidence, as otherwise its your word against them...
Same applies when sending phone or any tech to any recycler or trade in place..

I did mine in the store but easier as well at least doing it that way they can't come back to you and say that the screen is broken

Too true @Pipstop78
I would not trust O2 Recycle to tell me the time of day
