I upgraded my phone and contract a few days ago. When I upgraded the operator said I was able to apply for a discount of 25% on the air time as I am a teacher and have a blue light card. I have messaged 61202 with open_Teach but keep getting the same error message back. I have tried teacher, my school name in different variations (it’s a local authority school), the council name where the school is etc and I just can’t get a code to apply for this discount. I rang up 02 this morning and explained all this and got not where. I explained the school isn’t a company name and said I tried Teach (as stated on their website). She said she wasn’t able to authorise and needed a manager (who was in a meeting) and would ring me back. She hasn’t rang me back but I have since got this complaints email. I’m actually at a loss now of what to do to apply for 02 open as on the email there is still no code and I am aware you only have 28 days. I’ve been through the help guided listed on here for friends and family discount but cannot get past the first step.

Contact your Schools HR Team, as it could be that the code has changed.
You also would be better using the website https://o2open.co.uk and see if it accepts the code and you can do it via your work email address

Thank you, I’ll speak to HR next week and call o2 again as I’m using the website link and inputting my school email as 02 have requested and it just keeps saying it’s not a valid work email address. We’ve had these school emails for over 10 years, it even has the school name in the email address. O2 are not making it easy to get this 25% air time discount!

If your conversation with HR doesn't solve things @Andrea_321, you need to contact O2. Unfortunately, this is a customer to customer community so we cannot access your account.
I suggest that you message O2 on social media :-

I went through instagram this morning before I called them. And got nowhere. I then called them. I’m just really disappointed as I knew they wouldn’t call back when she said her manager was “in a meeting.” I will call again and see where I get this time.

O2 cant do anything about the codes or tell you what they are, that has to come from the Benefits / HR team as they are created by the Enterprise team and provided to them.
And to any company, schools are usually under the council or the company (academy etc) that runs them, so although not a company Per Se, they are still classed as it.
And the codes do change, I think ours changed a year ago..
What happens if you Text Open "your school name /council / LEA" to 61202
*what every organisation is on your payslip
Good Luck
