I think the T&Cs have been updated http://www.o2.co.uk/static/www/docs/termsandconditions/o2open.pdf now say only for use by employee, and show 1 use for refresh and 1 use for mobile broadband

if this is the case it only makes the o2 refresh tariffs even less competitive.

for example, looking at getting an lg g4. on o2 refresh, it is 60 up front plus 36 per month (15 phone and 21 line rental for unlim text and calls and 3gb data) or 29.7 total after o2 open discount (at 30%). at 25% it is now 30.75 per month.

going with an offer using a comparison webstite, the g4 is free, the monthly cost is 31 plus you can choose a gift (line rental discount, money back, or something else).

in total the direct option costs 797.99 (assuming you stay the 24 months).

before discounts the alternative method totals to 744 - saving more than 50! and that is before any discount...

i have to agree that while refresh is good if you are going to pay up before the end of the contract, but if you are seeing it through then you are far better of going somewhere else.

It's actually 25% off the less VAT price so in your example it's 25% of around £17.00

I love O2, but will continue to upgrade elsewhere.

The new discounts will be as follows:  25% off any tariffs that have 3GB or above data allowance or 15% off any below 3GB.

And yes they have removed the option to pass on the discount to the 5 F&F.
