02 New Sim Offer - Too Good To Be True?

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi folks my first post Cheers

So basically, I am currently on O2 pay as you go and it was becoming very expensive for me as my friends are all on different networks and I phoned them a lot and text them a lot and it was just so dear!! I topped up like 3 times in one month. So I wasn't getting the best out of my pay and go.

I decided to opt for a pay monthly SIM and looked around as O2 ones were expensive and I came across a Three one for £9 per month with unlimited texts, minutes and 4GB of data. So decided I would unlock my phone, get my PAC and transfer.

When I phoned O2 the kind lady asked why I was leaving the network and I explained, then she asked what network and what they were offering so I told her Three. Then, so my shock she said that as I was a long standing O2 customer she didn't want to lose me so she offered me a SIM pay monthly deal for £10 per month with unlimited texts, minutes (including landline) and 2GB of data. I snapped at this as I like O2 and got it all sorted and set up.

So here's my question - this sounds too good to be true!! I couldn't find the pay monthly SIM deal online for £10, it was actually £20 online and I was like "why did I get it for £10?". Is something up because the deal is so good I'm kinda worried? lol Help If not then thanks O2, you are very generous to your long-term customers and once again you have proven why my loyalty lies here.

Yes, it hasn't appeared yet but I assume it's because I haven't recieved or activated the sim card yet.

If cs put it through as a tariff change it will update overnight, so you might see it before the sim arrives.

Hi @Anonymous It does sound generous but they are able to make these offers occasionally. Have you checked in My O2 http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2

Many of us have discounts for being long standing customers but be aware that they are only for 12 months so you will have to re-negotiate again when the 12 months are up.
Also, your MyO2 will still show full price but the discount will be applied via a bolt on.

I understand. She didn't actually tell me she was reducing the £20 one to £10. She just offered me unlimited minutes, texts, 2GB of data for £10 and I couldn't find it online so I just assumed she gave me the £20 one for £10. I certainly wasn't going to refuse that offer lol Cheers
