Does this maen that if we are abroad - in eu - will it still use 4g or slower speeds (like it currently does now)

There is no 4g roaming on o2 at all but we don't know yet what speeds we'll get until we try it.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Surely the only change that O2 is implementing is compliance with the European Commission's agreement which relates only to the abolishing of roaming charges.
It does not cover whether or not 4G is used or whether data speeds must be at a specified level
