There has been no signal all morning today in Torquay. I'm apparently missing important texts while the outage goes on. What's happening, please, and when will it be restored?

All you can do is keep checking the status page for updates.
O2 never give timescales but you can register another number to receive text updates on.

If you have the mynetwork app you can report an issue (which will send all the relevant logs to O2 once a connection becomes available via Wifi or cellular) this will aid them in diagnosing any issues

If you are a pay monthly customer you could also use the Tu app to take calls and texts over WiFi.
Only word of caution is that texts from short numbers (5 digits long) such as from a bank will not come through for security purposes.
