Problem texting UK number from abroad using iphone 5C

Just wondered if anyone can help. I am a pay monthly customer trying to use my phone overseas. I have a signal with another network and wifi and have been able to message my daughter in the UK (iphone to iphone) via imessage but I can't send a text to a non-iphone person. Can anyone help please? Thanks

Is your number in the format +447xxxxxxx ?

Hi.

iMessage works over data.

If no normal texts are getting through after using the right international prefix and the foreign network has no issues then perhaps ring O2 on the abroad number or use live chat to have your account looked at.

From abroad +44 844 809 0200 > Free

Live chat is in the contact us section at the bottom of the forum page.

Another alternative is to use a local sim card if your phone is unlocked.

Which country are you in?

 Have you tried manually selecting a different network?
