The following method will work on any O2 mobile and means you can control the time interval before a call goes to Voicemail.

Enter the following into your keypad as though you were just making a call :

**61*901*11*30# then simply press 'call'.

please note 30 is the time in seconds before voicemail kicks in and can be set in increments of 5 ie. 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 to a maximum of 30 seconds. (also see video)

Alternatively you can switch voicemail off completely by calling 1760 from your mobile when you know you will be available to answer calls. Switch on again when needed by calling 1750.

More info on Voicemail here : Using Voicemail | Support | O2

Just a tip : To avoid charges when travelling overseas switch off voicemail before you go as you cannot do so once you have left the UK

Hi Andy and welcome slight_smile
You'll find lots more useful tips like this if you have a search around the forum....
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I got these instructions off the forum a while back:

1.Dial *#61# from your phone. Tap Send.

2.You should see a new screen that displays a bunch of information about what's getting forwarded. You should see a line under "Voice Call Forwarding" that says "Forwards to +11234567890" (where 11234567890 is an eleven digit phone number, likely different from your phone number). Write down this number and tap dismiss.

3.Now, dial **61*+11234567890*11*XX# and hit Send, where 11234567890 is the number that you found in step two and XX is the number of seconds you want to wait until voicemail picks up. You can set it in increments of 5, where 30 seconds is the maximum.

Here are some other divert options that are available.

I'm not sure of the point of that last post in relation to the title's thread. The original post describes a much simpler method.

If you are referring to my post coolcity.

The original post shows a code which needs to be entered to lengthen the ringtime, and I thought that the codes I was given on here a while back might be useful on this thread or to some of the people who read the thread. The codes I posted also show other options which some people might find useful or people might not of been aware that been able to control those particular options existed.

There was a time when it appeared on the main web site, but I couldn't find it so maybe they've taken it down.

Before I bookmarked it for posting here...I used to pinch it from Jonsie's signature....which was time consuming to say the least slight_frown

thank you for this @jonsie I knew I'd seen this topic somewhere before

possibly near your signature sometime in the past?

I've gone for 30 seconds

its so annoying to just get to the phone for it to ring off

I have voicemail permanently switched off ( my preference )

hope you're somewhere near home now
