How long does it take to unblock the bar put on if phone los

I called o2 to out a bar on my service as I thought I had lost my phone. I have since spoken to o2 and requested that they unbar the service. I was given a new sim card and was told that it could take from 2 to 24 hours to get the service back on my phone. I also have my phone turned off and this is supposed to speed the process up. It's almost 24 hours now and it's still not back.

Did you have the handset barred too? If so, this takes a bit longer.
Also you have to bear in mind that it's weekend and less staff available so it's possible that it could be Monday before you are back on the network.

It is recommended that you periodically turn the phone off and on so that you can see when the sim card becomes active.

Hope you get it done quickly

The handset bar takes 72 working hours to come off. The SIM bar takes up to 24 hours.

Thanks guys

My phone has come back onto the network and was working fine, however,it wont connect to my wifi, infact, it's not even showing up my wifi in settings, do you think this is still as a result of having the phone barred?

o2 have barred my phone (against my will). I'm absolutely furious and will go through the formal complaint procedures, but in the meantime, does ANYONE have any tips on how I can get it back on? They first said they'd unbarred it but hadn't, then last night they did actually unbar it but its been over 24 hours and its still not on. I'm working away so I need it on but nobody on the o2 phone team seems to care! They say there's nothing they can do. Can someone please help?!

Try switching off, remove/refit sim and then switch back on

As far as I am aware all o2 have to do is re-activate the sim (correct me if I'm wrong MI5 etc.) which is similar to a sim swap, just keep switching the phone off/on every 20 mins or so.

Any other ideas out there guys?

There are two threads running. I've answered on the other one but advice is the same.
