I have had a contract for over 2 years & have been trying to cancel it since Xmas! They rung me & offered a new phone (not saying it was a new 2 yr contract) I received the phone realised it was a new contract so returned it saying I did not want a new contract. I am ill & cannot speak so my son has rung O2 for me 10 times trying to cancel it, I have chatted online 4 times. The last time online they cancelled but now they've sent a bill for £250 for cancelling it! I NEVER renewed the contract I sent it & the new phone back! Frustrated!!

Were you cold called? They may have sent you a termination fee if outside the cooling off period or if you were placed on a business tariff which I believe has no cooling off period

I was cold called & my husband answered as I cannot speak. My son has rung O2 10 times trying to cancel, they have confirmed receipt of the returned mobile within the cooling off period & my contract is residential.
