Bought a phone 10 days ago, was told I had to have a temporary monthly contract just until the next day and then the assistant would cancel this and put me on pay-as-you go. I let myself be persuaded to do this. Went back as requested the next day and made new arrangement - so I thought - but days later the original and expensive monthly contract is still in place. Many e-mails and on my o n2 page telling me about what montlhy costs I am soon to incur. Very annoying! Returned to store a week later, assistant says that there checking for fraud so new arrangement hasn't gone through but he thinks it might. Wondering if I should I just cancel it all, keep my paid for phone and join another network? By the way, I have no criminal record and have never been in debt to o2 or anyone else!

Hi @nidge1
You have 14 days to change your mind. Return the handset and cancel the unwanted contract.

You can only keep the phone if you pay for it outright.

In that case you can just cancel the airtime without penalty by calling or messaging customer services.
If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this.

Similar thing happened to friend of mine. Seems some o2 sales people will say whatever and baffle you with long drawn out sales pitch just to get the sale and it’s left to customer to prove they were misled. Once you sign up your done.
