un locking an old nokia

my husband and I are pensioners and partially disabled, we have spent two weeks trying to get an old Nokia 635 unlocked so we can use it with a different network more suitable to our needs

In spite of being told that 'O2 don't block/lock/latch their phone we have been unsuccessful in getting any help from O2, and the best advice was to leave it in a draw to decompose over time and buy an unlocked phone. We have been with O2 since the BT Cellnett days, but NEVER again

Tks for your quick responce, we followed the on-line form application and got a reply back within minutes, 

"Unlocking not possible as you failed the security criteria"so we tried again, and again with exessive care with our answers, now we get too many attempts to unlock message
