ported number from asda payg to o2 classic payg

my brother ported his number from asda mobile payg to o2 classic payg as far as i know the port went through ok he can make and receive calls and can send texts but cannot receive them, the my o2 app does not recognise the number he has ported over plus when he logs into his o2 account it says he has no products which means he cannot top up he has reset his phone a sony xperia xa2 forced into a diff network then back to o2 buy he still cannot recieve text messages i tried the sim in my phone and no text messages have come through is this to do with the port or do i hace to get a new sim and do a sim swap

Sounds like a faulty sim. 

Pop into your local o2 store for a free swap.

Seems like the sim is faulty. Go instore and they will swap it over for you

Update:before I went into town to the O2 shop as per the instructions by @MI5 and @Cleoriff I thought I would try and see if I could receive texts lo and behold yes, also after going onto the Web can now log into my o2 on my phone and Web and can even log into here from my phone but I would just like to say@MI5 and @Cleoriff thank you for the instructions given to my brother
