There isnt a bolt on for the US for PAYG customers. and you may also struggle to use your phone as in the US you need 4G Calling which isnt available on PAYG
Best option is get a local US sim for data..
I do not work for o2 or any VMo2 /Telefonica/Liberty Global Company

You can buy an AT&T or T-Mobile PAYG SIM from Amazon before you leave, competitively-priced, to give you data when you are there - activate it when you land.
Also move your communications to WhatsApp or similar, but you and those you communicate with have to use the same app - it only needs a data connection (WiFi is everywhere in hotels and restaurants in the USA).
You then can use it for messages, video and phone calls and pictures, avoiding the stupid MMS charge for sending photos by SMS too! Good luck @Nmh51.
