Resolved! New Galaxy phone ordered with SIM

I have just bought a new Galaxy phone, but I had to agree to the package I am already on with a new sim. I was hoping to just put the old sim in the new phone, if it fits. If not how do I keep my number & credit on the new sim card.Thank you
