Waiting for number to transfer from EE

I'm waiting for my old number to transfer from EE to my new phone.  I've bought the phone outright and just want a monthly PAYG rolling contract. Can I buy this now and when my old number is activated on the phone will the PAYG rolling contract transfer onto my old number?

You just need to buy the simcard and top it up, then get a PAC code from EE and give that to o2, and your EE number will have the PAYG Rolling Plan..
