Hi my sister in law gave my son her old phone. She was o2. He has been using it on Tesco mobile with no issues. We have moved to sky mobile and the phone don’t accept the sim. My sis in law has tried logging into her account but it won’t pick up her old phone? How do I unlock this? I’ve been trying for hours. Thank you for your help.

@Trish

As the phone belonged to your sister when she was with O2 it needs her details to unlock.

She would have to complete the form shown in the guide https://www.o2.co.uk/help/phones-sims-and-devices/unlocking-an-o2-mobile-to-use-on-a-different-netwo...

Other than that, a mobile phone shop or market stall would unlock it for you

It does actually as you are constantly adding the same information to every thread which has already been posted.

Thank you for your replies. Unfortunately I’ve been through all the threads (trying for hours) and it constantly put me back through it all again. Is there a dummy guide? It’s not recognising his number as it’s a new sky one until we get his own number back? Please help ...,,

You need to use the original number as used on O2 and the IMEI number of the phone you want to unlock. Use this form https://www.o2.co.uk/help/phones-sims-and-devices/unlocking-an-o2-mobile-to-use-on-a-different-netwo...
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
