Unlocking iPhone on pay as you go

Hiya,

 

I bought an iphone on O2 pay as you go and as per the current rules, I can't unlock it to use with other carrier sims for another 12 mths.If I take up a new pay monthly sim contract with O2 can I get it unlocked earlier . Please advise.

You can unlock an iPhone anytime as they are not restricted to the 12 month rule (new models at launch excepted)

No iPhones do and the time limit has now passed which restricted the 8 and X, so you're free to request the unlock now.
