Switching to O2. Can't activate SIM?

I've received my PAYG SIM card and registered for an O2 account. Yet when I try to activate the card, which I'm told I do by topping up, it justs asks me to log back in again. When I do that, it takes me back to my account, and so it repeats. I've tried this on chrome and edge.

I've tried calling 4444 with the SIM in but it just tells me that the SIM isn't registered.

Any help?

Thanks,

Luke

@Luke_S

Your first top up needs to be done with a voucher from a supermarket or corner shop.

After this, your SIM will be activated and you can use all online facilities.

Guide How to Top Up (PAYG)

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Seriously? I've received no information that this is how to activate your SIM, not on the leaflet nor on the website, including in the section for advice on how to activate your SIM.

Hi @Luke_S

One of my family is on o2 Paygo and that is the way it needs to be done,

with a voucher I think it was £10.00.

Suppose it does seem odd in some ways.

Hope all goes well and your sim gets going for you soon.

Best wishes

Edited to say probably asked @MI5 toocool  !!

Okay, thanks for the help. I'm not sure I'm going to bother making this switch as the website is giving me grief as well.
