I have a pay as you go mobile for my elderly mother who doesn't require any bolt ons and as a basic 3G device has no need for any data, I want to remove the bolt on and only have phone calls and texts.

We are a community of customers so can't do what you ask.

I'm not sure what plan your mother is on but all include data these days.

I would suggest changing networks but if it is a 3G device as you stated then that will be a problem All the other networks have now shut down 3G and O2's offering is due to be run down next year.

I would suggest a change of handset and a look round to see if any other networks or MNVO has something more suitable

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@Dilys

If you're already on Pay As You Go, text one of the following free to 21300:

Big Bundles

  • BIGBUNDLE5 for the £5 tariff

Unlimited calls and text with no data.

No need to worry about 3g switch off as calls will still go over 2g.

My Mother is in her 80's and has health issues and this particular phone is designed for the elderly with larger buttons and a larger screen so not many options on the market for the older generation that's not touch screen.

Thanks for the recommendation and your time.
