Reclaim a number?

Is it possible to reclaim a mobile number that has been deactivated by O2 because it has not been used for a while?

The phone belonged to our mother, who passed away on Christmas day 2021.  We took great comfort in reading the messages that she sent to us before she passed away, and we are devastated that they are gone!

Thank you.

@StompyCat

Probably not by now as the number will have been recycled but try O2.

You need to contact O2.
Message them on Social Media. Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) or give them a call on 0344 8090222 (PAYG)

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Just to say if you were to retrieve the number you will not be able to retrieve the messages associated with it if that is your intention

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

I've just booted up my Nokia N95 last used around 2006, no sim in it but all the texts I sent and received are still on it, so not sure how you've lost the messages @StompyCat ?
