Hello everyone,

Can someone please tell me what kind of

mobile phones the Free Wifi SIM is usuable in.

I ask because I have a simple EE MobiWire Pictor phone

which has internet capabilites, but after installing the

o2 SIM (payg version), I can not see anyway to utilise the

Free Wifi part of the deal.

Any ideas out there?

A Big Thanks if you have,

from

Eve

I have just looked up the specs of your phone Eve and unfortunately, it does not have wifi capability.
It does have 3g data though so you can connect to that if you have a data allowance on your sim?
Which tariff are you on?

Hi @Eve1275

When in range of an O2 wifi hotspot you simply connect to it, then follow the instructions on the login page to register for free to everyone O2 wifi.

See O2 help page here https://www.o2.co.uk/connectivity/free-wifi

Thanks MI5

I think I need to probably pay EE phone to connect

my internet first. (This is what I was hoping to avoid

to be honest), as my internet screen is not 'live' in

any way.  I was hoping that somehow the WIFI would

show up in my settings options or somewhere as

an alternative choice to using the internet that needs to

be paid for in my phone.

My phone is not a iphone, with a touchable screen, it

is the small older style mobile.

Anyway, any thought would be very appreciated as this

is not my field of knowledge in any real depth.

A Big Thanks again

You need to go to one of the venues on the help page, McDonalds for example, then open the wifi screen on your phone. When your phone scans for wifi it should find the O2 connection and allow you to connect to it.
It will only work when in range of a hotspot though so you won't see the hotspots all the time.

Thanks that sounds really good but I

have never seen a WIFI screen on

this phone, it is not written in any Settings

Option I have seen, the word Wifi seems

not to exist.

I will try a store tomorrow,

so I guess I will know for sure.

I really hope you are right and something

just kind of pops up somehow that makes sense to me.

A Big Thanks again MI5

My phone is a 2G Network, and

I am a new o2 SIM user (only

registered it yesterda), as a

PAYG customer, so I don't think

I can do what you suggest (but

I am not sure as I am not so

savvy in 2G and 3G etc. things).

Your great for prompt answers M15,

I very much appreciate them.

bye for now from Eve

Just shout out if you need help with connecting to 2g/3g Eve, but your phone should pick up the settings off your sim and connect automatically, however, you might not want this depending on your tariff.
If you are on a big bundle you will be OK but if on classic PAYG it will use your credit to connect, so would be best turned off unless needed.
