I ordered a new pay as you go sim im I able to keep the same number im using which is with 02 or would the number have to change

SIM Swap will help you get any balance and your number transferred to the new SIM, @Faktar24 - an O2 Shop will do this for you, if you bring some photo id, or Guide: Sim Swap: a mini guide 2017 update has the process.

For what purpose did you get a new sim?

All a sim swap will do is replicate your old sim on the new one so won't help if you're looking for a tariff change?
