Phone number formatted incorrectly

I have recently changed my phone to a Motorolo  G6 and changed my sim to a nanao to fit the phone. Now I cant send texts using my O2 sim  I keep receiving a message "message not sent. Phone neumber formatted incorrectly" How do I solve this. My old sim worked perfectly well and i have credit on the phone.

Or if you have an O2 store nearby, call in and they will give you a new sim for free and hopefully resolve your issue.

Check the message centre number in settings is exactly this (inc the +44 format)

This potential solution works on many phones but not on the Motorolo G6 because of the way it is set up to read the sim it is not possible to change the number through settings.

In that case you have a PAYG sim on a contract tariff or vice versa.
Get the correct sim for your account as the numbers are different.

The solution to the problem on the MotoroloG6 was to complete a sim swap as it is not possible to reset the message centre number on the phone through the settings menu. Something to do with how the phone reads the number from the sim card.
