I’ve just changed networks from o2 to Vodafone but have £20 on my account still is there any way I can get that back?

Nope, as per the terms and conditions as soon as you leave o2 , then no refunds are given for any credit left on the account.  

You are advised by the networks and the regulator to use it or lose it
