Often complained about unfortunately which is why the advice is to set up a direct debit.
All ways to pay listed here as another method may help you https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-Guides/How-can-I-pay-my-bill-or-Ways-to-pay-guidelines/ba-p/101...
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

@Stevieboyblue Have you used the card before to make a payment to O2? As suggested, setting up a Direct Debit is the best way to avoid problems like this. You'd be wise to heed the advice.:smileywink:

Have you tried using the MyO2 Card Wallet, @Stevieboyblue?

Some screenshots of how to set it up and use it part-way down this post here, if you are still determined not to pay via Direct Debit:

Good luck!
