I was a pay monthly o2 customer and then switched to pay as you go.

I phoned them to keep my old number and someone their end deactivated my old sim before the number transfer had completed. I have phoned them 5 times now, spoken to countless staff, all who say they are migrating the number for me which should happen within 24 hours.
Nothing is happening and I can’t see to find anyway to get my old number back!
can anyone please help?

Thank you

@O2Georgina is on duty from 8am

I've tagged her in this post seeing you are getting knowhere with CS

Keep an eye out here for a message

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

As the duty advisor does not appear to have reached out to you, @Lianne3 - please take a look at the section for migration from Contract to PAYG in this Guide: Migration & porting into O2  h then reach out to O2 Social Media Team, the link just below this post explains how, and see what they can do for you. You can try calling 4445 at around 08:10am in the morning, but a direct or private message gets through and you can ask for update periodically if they "forget" about you. Good luck!

I’ve been told that since o2 have deactivated my SIM card for the original number they have sent an email to the technical department but they won’t get back to me any earlier than Wednesday. By that point I will not have had my original number for a week. I know it’s not the worst thing in the world but when you are waiting on calls from the doctors and other appointments it’s very frustrating. ☹️
