Pac code on new PAYG sim - no credit

I have ported my phone number to an o2 PAYG SIM only to realise the signal in my area is extremely poor 0 to 1 bar.

The only option I can see is to move again to another provider. But o2 say I can only receive a PAC via text message. I do not want to waste £10 simply to send a message to move elsewhere.

Does anyone know why they cannot simply provide the PAC over the phone?

NB: I am able to receive texts and calls.

Hi Lisa, would it be possible for you to do the same for me please? My daughter has an O2 SIM in her phone she used on wifi to message her friends on whatsapp during the lockdowns. Now she's old enough to walk to school on her own, we need to get her a working SIM card but sadly not with O2. Her SIM has no credit but would like to get a PAC code to keep her number if possible! Thank you! Julie

Hello, I am wondering if @O2Lisa or any other kind person would be able to help me with my sons PAYG O2 SIM in his phone. He has mainly used it for incoming calls only and has never topped it up. Now he's at an age were the bank of mum & dad are stopping funding him. We got a SIM only plan with our BT broadband as part of a deal, so ideally we need a PAC to port his number over to the BT SIM card.

Thanks in advance

@O2Lisa - Sorry to trouble you - it's looks like you've become the go to expert on getting a PAC for PAYG with no credit 😞

I'm having the same problem with a PAYG SIM that I transferred my number to, I can't get a text message to go to 65075 (although I can receive text and calls).

Unfortunately, the signal in the house is non-existent - so I can't stay on O2.

Is there anyway you can help to get PAC?
