PAYG offers

Anonymous
Not applicable

Occasionally I get texts from O2(uk) for offers. The last one I tried was a top up now and we'll give you £10 extra to use on web, call and text. So based on that I topped up but never got the offer. Contacted support who apologised and explained that because I'm on an old tariff (text an web) that it wouldn't work for me so they gave me an extra months allowance instead but said it's a one off and if  want to take advantage of the offer I'll need to change my tariff! Why send me the offers if you can't fulfill them?

Anyone else had similar problems?

The text went out to (almost) everyone on PAYG.
What tariff are you on ?
Usually those free allowances are virtual and don’t show in your MyO2 but are used first before any other credit or allowances.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I would have thought so too. However I'm more of the opinion that a virtual credit would have been applied and maybe the adviser wasn't aware how extra credit actually worked.
