I am in SAfrica at the moment & only using my UK smart phone for WhatsApp messages when on Wifi. I keep receiving calls from unknown numbers but not answering them. I block the caller but keep getting O2 messages saying “you missed a call from me ...”. Even though I am not using the phone my balance is dwindling rapidly & I don’t know where the costs are coming from or how to stop them??

Hi @JillyW
Receiving calls in SA is £2.00 per minute http://international.o2.co.uk/internationaltariffs/travelling_abroad and if calls are going to voicemail, you will be charged.
Voicemail should be turned off when away from the EU.
