Hi all,

I've already messaged O2 on Twitter and their Complaints department via email, just wondering if anyone has anymore information they could provide me whilst I wait.

I have 2 O2 sim cards, one used day-to-day and one used for two step authentication on a variety of applications. The one I use day-to-day has 0 issues but the one I use for authentication has stopped working - received last text in early April 2022 but now says "No service." I have tried reinserting the sim, using the sim in different phones etc but nothing is working; I'm thinking that O2 have deactivated my sim or it is broken.

Unfortunately, I do not have any of the original packing for the sim, and since I only use it for authentication, I do not know the phone number off by heart. Are O2 able to locate a sim just by the number on the back of the sim itself?

Does anyone have any ideas of what I can try to see if I can fix the sim?

Thank you in advance

It will have been switched off due to inactivity.

You need to male a call at least once every 6 months and top up every 999 days.

O2 can identify the sim from the serial number so hang on for them to get back to you.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

When did you last make a chargable action, (Call / Text or Data usage) on the sim card that has been deactivated?

O2 can find the number off the Sim Card Number, but you will need to pass security with O2 Customer Services...

If it was recently, it could be a faulty sim card, which does happen then you can request a replacement when you call on 0344 809 0202 or via the twitter DM or pop into an o2 store with Photo ID and they should also be able to help
