As you are PAYG the phone will use 2G for calls and text and anything data wise will use 4G.
It can't make calls on 4G as that is a restriction of O2 PAYG not the phone
Bottom line...the phone won't stop working.
This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
