Bought a new sim because I wanted to change my number. Put it in and went through the sim swap process. Got service and still has my old number as registered on my phone. Says it can take 24 hours for the sim swap to happen but thought when I got service back it was done?

Will my number change on 02 as well? Because still has my old number on my account.

@JordanH

All you did was swap your old sim details to a new sim.

You need to contact O2 to change your phone number Guide: How to change your mobile number

or just use a new PAYG sim without doing the sim swap.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Do I need to get a new payg sim if I’ve already done a sim swap on this one?

The new sim will come with a new number.

You can register it for a MyO2 account, but that is optional.

If you do, you'll get a £5 bonus credit.
