Today my daughter bought a new phone at the o2 store. the seller with the phone also sold a sim card which we didn't need and which cost us exstra £10. when I said we don't really need it, the seller says he must sell it together with the phone.when I asked what I should do with the new sim card, the seller said ignore it if you don't need it.the question is why I have to buy an item and pay extra money that I don't need and the seller doesn't hear me!?

Some offers need a £10 PAYG SIM to get the offer price on the handset, @Virginija.Your daughter can get any balance she has on her current PAYG SIM transferred to the newer SIM, as well as the number she has now, if she wants to keep it, and then discard the older SIM.
Sounds odd, but discounted handsets often come with contorted conditions. The transfer of number from old to new SIM can be done via the MyO2 app, but the balance transfer needs a call to 4445. Best time is around 08:15am, so you are not queued for ages. Good luck!

It's O2 policy to sell a sim with all PAYG phones bought in store. This is, however, at the managers discretion.
It's not a requirement if buying online.
You can give the sim to someone else to use if you wish.
