Hi Guys

I had a text message yesterday (10 June 2020) from O2 which looks like they will be charging me £1 a day to use the data service if i am within the UK, as it says

"You'll be charged using our Web Daily pricing only if you use data in the UK or Europe Zone that isn't part of your allowance ."

Have I read this wrong or does this mean my £10 big bundle tarrif will jump from £10/Month to £40/Month?

It means that you will be charged £1 per day for data IF you exceed your data allowance in your bundle.

If you stay in your allowances you will not be charged any extra at all.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

No, the key words are

You'll be charged using our Web Daily pricing only if you use data in the UK or Europe Zone that isn't part of your allowance ."

So if you stay within your allowances you will be fine.

Web Daily pricing until 8 July 2020:

Daily Data Allowance Daily Cap Rate
Up to 50MB limit Up to £1 £3/MB up to £1
Using data with Web Daily costs £3 per MB, which is applied until your usage in a day reaches £1.

You’ll then be able to continue using data that day, at no extra charge, until you’ve used the Web Daily limit of 50MB. If that happens you can buy a Web Daily Bolt On for £1, giving you an additional 50MB of data to use in the UK or our Europe Zone, until the end of the day you purchase it.

Web Daily pricing from 9 July 2020:

Daily Data Allowance Daily Cap Rate
Up to 100MB limit Up to £2 £3/MB up to £2
From 9 July, the Web Daily charge rate stays the same - £3 per MB.
I personally think that this is an extortionate amount to pay for 50meg of data.

£3 for 1mb is ridiculous. How can anyone agree to those prices?

You have the choice to pay it or not.

Choose a different tariff if you need data.

The big bundles have data included from £10  a month.
