Lost Credit on Pay As You Go

I am on holiday in Turkey. I am on the 321 Sim. I topped up before I left to be able to text home while away. On arrival at the airport my balance read zero. This morning my balance is £12.33. Where has my credit gone? I have switched off mobile data, roaming and Wi-Fi assist. What is going on?
