International Bolt on does not work

I have been sold an international bolt on by O2 customer services saying it would work in Italy and Turkey. It worked fine in Italy. Now in Turkey it does not work.
My balance shows I have a lot of data and text and minutes too.
What is wrong?

I called the customer service and explained that I was going to be travelling in Italy and in Turkey.
O2 cust service suggested I got an international bolt-on. Which they activated whilst I was in the UK.Itvworked fine in Italy.
In Turkey I can not even call any O2 numbers let alone actually use my bolt on

I think it is ridicilous that there isn't even a texting facility. I can text them to find out my balance but I can not actually text a cust service person to find out what the problem is. It seems like I cant even receive calls on my phone. I have no idea what changes they have activated. It is awful.

You were misinformed @Olivia90 

The International bolt on is for calling abroad when you are in the UK

Your phone worked in Italy as you were in one of the Europe Zones so you were using allowances.

Turkey is not in the Europe Zone and has no PAYG allowances see here

This is what I was given by the O2 customer service people themselves.

So essentially what you are saying is I was mis-sold a bolt-on.

There is no number nothing I can contact to speak to O2 because in Turkey this pay as you go does not work. I can't receive calls.. I can't make calls. Why was I not told that there and then I wonder.

I already have more than 4900 text, 200 mins and 1850 MB !

I don't understand why you are suggesting I should top up. Whats the point in having an international nolt on that runs out on 18th with the above non used balance. I don't understand why you think I should top up? What for?
