I don't get voice message alerts

Hi!  When someone leaves me a message on my phone I can retrieve it by dialling 901.  I just have no idea when someone has left me a message as I don't get an alert.  Any ideas how I can set this up?  Thanks!

Try resetting your voicemail.

For clarity, are you wanting call alerts or a voicemail notification.

You cannot have both, it's one or the other as outlined in the guide I linked to above?
