How to setup auto top-up?

Tearing my hair out trying to set this up.

Help says "To get started, sign in to your My O2 account and activate auto top-up" but there is no option to do this, only the normal top up amounts. Tried calling customer services but there seems to be no option to do it there either. There's never any chat agents available and there's no "talk to someone" option in CS.

Am on the point of giving up ...

Aha - that page (https://autotopup.o2.co.uk/o2uk/) looks to be what I want - thanks!

However there's no link to that page via MyO2.  It's a different website altogether, and different page style etc.

My remaining question is does one receive a notification of when a (low balance) auto-top up has occured?

The FAQ "Will I be told when my mobile is topped up automatically?" link doesn't trigger for me in any browser.

It's 6 years since I was on PAYG @mr-b and I never used auto top up.

However, I always received a text with my remaining balance when it was low.

You can check your own balance via these routes

  • Press Hotkey 2 on your mobile phone
  • Key *#10# then press the call button
  • Dial 4444 for free from your mobile

Thanks, yes if it were me then keeping track wouldn't be an issue. But my 11YO son isn't as diligent with his credit running out, so it's easier all round to have auto top-up active!

Exactly. I spent an hour on the phone with O2 a month or so ago and they could not point me to where to do auto top-up. Came back today (top-up needed again and auto has not worked) and still no link to auto top-up from MyO2 pages.

I set it up ages ago and it just stopped working. Now I go the link you mention and it tells me it is set up. But it still does not work any more. O2 get one more call from me to fix this and then I'm gone to another provider.
