How to check balance?

Hi

I keep coming up against hurdles to do something i thought would be easy.

My son has a watch that doubles as a phone.  It only allows him to call approved numbers and only accepts calls from approved numbers.  clearly a good safety feature.  I have put an O2 sim in and all is working well, but I cannot find a way to check his balance.

- I cannot sign up to MyO2 as it wants to send him a text message (which he will never receive)

- I cannot dial the top-up line as it is not an approved number.

- I notice Vodafone allow you to check balance online by typing in the phone number you want to check.  Is this possible for O2?  and if so what is the web address as I am drawing a blank every way I turn.

thanks for any help you can give.

Neil

You'll need to put the sim in a phone to set up the MyO2 account for it.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

I was beginning to think that was looking like a solution .  seems a very clunky way of doing it.  With mobile watches becoming a bigger thing, hopefully O2 will address this problem.

Not exactly the answer I was wanting, but thanks for confirming that the options are either - find an unlocked phone with the same sized sim slot, insert the sim, sign up to myo2, reinsert Sim to watch or - Switch to another provider.

thanks anyway

Neil

You will find all most networks will text verification codes to confirm the users identity for account access.

My Vodafone sends a text to your phone as part of their MFA process, as otherwise it would be open to abuse.

- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK

Without the security check, anyone could access your account.
